History

One of central Virginia’s oldest buildings, dating back to 1780, Hollymead House was once a 300 acre working farm. What started as a home for Hessian soldiers captured during the Revolutionary War went on to become a private residence of a long-time University of Virginia Dean, B.F.D. “Dee” Runk. Today, the Inn provides casual elegance with six guest rooms - four named for previous farm owners - the other two, Holly and Boxwood, a nod to its namesake and that which surround the property, respectively.
